My goal when my daytime job was IT and photography a hobby was to get the sharpest pics as possible, not blown highlights and details in the shadows ...
My goal today with photography as my daytime job is to deliver the pictures my clients want, which mostly involve styling with lot's of blur, overexposed and grainy pictures, layering textures over and so on ...

So im wondering while i wait for my new imac what your idle/load temps are
Would be super if you wrote which imac you have aswell.
Wondering how much the 95w cpu does to the temp in the imac.
Would love to hear idle/load gpu temps aswell :)
RealTemp - Windows 7 - CPU hits 70C max on gaming.
Haven't checked my GPU temps but they aren't high either.
System doesn't even ramp its fans when gaming.
In OSX - CPU idles at 36C, GPU idles at 46C from iStatPro. I don't do much on OSX, a Hulu flash video seems to peg the CPU at 2-10%...

Kinda wonder if this "PI" is even real...
Since the story broke, the guy's website has been posted across every tech news site around.
Fact of the matter is that I am sure that this situation has netted him a few more sales.

Unless reporting someone to the FBI counts as "aiding and abetting" I don't agree.
I didn't realize assisting in procuring abortion for child prostitutes counted as reporting to the FBI
mea culpa
Have the idiots said why exactly they want to kill Planned Parenthood? Is it because they claim most of Planned Parenthood's budget goes towards abortion, (which is not true)? I was watching Bill Mahr last night and the conservative on his panel said that originally the Tea Bagger movement claimed to be about money, budget issues, taxes. But the PP show down over the federal budget shows that they also have a social agenda.
If they are truly worried about paying for welfare, you'd think they'd be thrilled if the low income families were popping out less babies by means of contraception...
People are a nation's greatest asset. Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the government, all incoming money goes into one pot and then distributed thus some money goes towards abortions.

The black 3ds officially beat the iPhone in sexiness
You're joking right? April fools? The 3DS is the ugliest thing to come out of Nintendo manufacturing in a long long while. The DSi was a nice looking handheld, as well as feeling good as far as ergonomics go. The 3DS is a glossy nightmare and should be used as a showcase of what not to do when it comes to industrial design.

Why would you say that unless you're trying to get people stirred up? They all appear to be drinking water (which seems odd and rather sobering)!

Yep, sounds good. I likes me some OS updates.
Rack up another one (10.4.9) in December followed by another just before Leopard (10.4.10) and I reckon we'd be done.

Yes, but your point was that Apple will fail like other manufactures if they introduce different form factors. That isn't the case with the iPod selection.
Your point doesn't really hold much ground.
I think it does, all other manufactures are spitting out models every month and Apple has two models that they sell every year and they sell more then these other manufactures. Why change that? Can Apple succeeded at selling more models when nobody else can?

Record industry trade magazine Music Week said the release of the CD single was likely to give the X Factor winner "a massive boost".
I work in a music store, people were buying several copies of Joe McEldry's (sp?) single at a time today and we've had people asking for it since Monday morning. And Amazon's selling the track for 29p.
Guy at work asked if I was joing in the Rage thing. I think you've got more chance of steering a train personally.
When it comes to music people often just buy utter crap. Seriously, they just buy what Heat magazine tells them to.

It is surely embarrassing for Apple that a 3rd party developer can write an app that will download and upload from the iDisk far faster than their own Finder.
If I'm going to iDisk, I use Transmit. Otherwise it's not worth it.

Did Apple do this last year? If not, this could mean Apple really wants developers to give users who purchase the next iPhone an enhanced experience over iPhone 4 users. What that enhanced experience is remains to be seen. Maybe 1GB of ram and something else that will make some iPhone 4 users jealous, especially when their iPhone 4 turns into an iPhone 3G someday.

Anyone have a sub to the CR online that could copy + paste the story for us?
If this isn't "allowed," my apologies; I'd just like to give it a gander.

You should look up the definition of copyright.

I envision a market for some sort of faraday cage in an iPhone carrying case though grounding it maybe a challenge.
After-seller small business opportunity, become a chip remover or disabler perhaps.
1) A Faraday cage doesn't need to be grounded to work.
2) A "Faraday case" is a dumb idea. How would you receive calls?
3) The paranoid posts in the thread are stupid to the point of hilarity. Go live in an igloo somewhere, OK?
