I agree with you.
We do not have to go and sit down in their helluva offices to figure out what the heck is going on. My point is simple. As long as all the so called companies simply write software,provide services to US companies its back office. How much of software written is for native use? How much of the revenue generated by these companies is Indian based? With out infrastructure and manufacturing growing at at least 10% of the other growths people dream about, its nothing but a deck of cards doomed to fall any time. Enough of my rant.

Congrats to President Obama.
But, I don't personally agree with the selection committee's decision which suprised everybody including the President. The peace prize should go to someone who have had a track record for working towards achieving peace or the greater Good. They never gave one to M.K Gandhi who deserved it more than anybody in this world.
Make no mistake, Mr. Obama is a messenger of peace but, the fact is that he has been awarded prematurely for something he is yet to achieve in terms of ending the wars, ending nuclear armament, mid-east peace agreement etc (even though I think he will do so in the future).
The peace prize should not be an award for someone's intentions but for someone's actions that follow the intentions.

I'm went to the infopass website to make an appointment for interim EAD; I chose the "Washington Field Office" since I live in the DC Metro area. There are no appointments available in Aug and Sep!

USCIS will go according to the ND. They will not follow PD. PD is used only to make the application eligible for adjudication or to apply for AOS. One filed, it is the application ND that takes priority. For example, if there are two EB2 applications, and the PD for the two are Aug 2002 and Aug 2004, and the ND for these two are June 2006 and Jan 2006 respectively, the applicaiton with ND of Jan 2006 gets priority, provided both PD are current.

good response. we are all in this together and need to work together in order to get things done. IV is not just IV core but each and every member. each member should try to do something positive in order to help IV in whatever way theycan. - contributing money, help increase members, contact their local lawmakers and also contacting media. we need to raise awareness andevery small positive action done by an iv member helps in the overall scheme of things.

If the legislations dont change - my estimate would be even more than 7 years (come on they already have 500k pending app before this 300k July2nd boom). In USCIS term It doesn't matter where you stand in line out of that 800K folks. The NSC july 2nd filers are speculated to be transfered to TSC almost 2 months down the line and no one has guaranted that our Original Receipt date of July 2nd be kept intact - How do you logically map this ??

GC people is closer to citizenship and closer to get this permission.

You said those of us with bad parents don't need to comment. What happens to bad parents of citizens and very good parents of H1Bs? Where do they stand?

I would say even Canadian system of education is different from US. However difference in Canada is 10% v/s difference with India is 80%.
Remember Canada is Commonwealth country and ex British Colony and their education system is amalagmation of British and US systems. So even in Canaz they will prounces Z as Zed and not as Zee as in US. They will also write cheque and not check.
Canada educational system standards are high. In Canada public school is free like US but it goes beyond US in that even school supplies are free. You pay nothing for pen, book, paper or anything used in the classroom.
Also in Canad there are public Catholic schools where school is run by Catholics but with government aid so you pay nothing. Something like private school with no fees. or your Indian convent schools which many of us may have been to.

I bought whole life insurance for my wife year ago for $300k from PRUDENTIAL, monthly premium is $116/month but $72 went to admin. and tran. charges. Although I paid $1276 last year, my balance was $476 after 25.2 % return on funds. whole life has surrender charges apart from hefty financial charges ,so you can not withdraw when you want.
I took $1500 loss and canceled my whole life insurance policy since I do not want to waste 70% of my premium as a financial charges.you are feeding for a company and agent s getting heavy commission on this.
Buy term life insurance and invest in Vanguard Index funds for investment purpose.

My apologies for nitpicking on the DONOR definition and Congratulations on the new management philosophy you are going with. I hope you succeed in your endeavour.
Still I've some open issues. If you look at the poll, there isnt a single person who voted NO. We should expect to see a healthy mix of Yes,No and Dont Care. But the way the poll has been put and partly the wording, partly the current IV environment, people are sceptical of putting their real thoughts publicly. This excercise is futile if you have minimal 'NO's --- hope you are getting my point here. The only thing you might end up with is x number of YES and hope to translate the YES into more dollar value for IV and there will be some YES who are already contributing monetarily.
You are right in saying that we need to increase dollar contributions but tying it to frequent updates is not a practical thing. There are reasons IV Core cannot share their strategical plans with the masses and this is true in most places. By saying donate more and get more updates, we are setting us up for failures esp. if we expect 'real' updates. Even in an ideal situation, you will not have real changes every week and certainly not regularly.
And once again thanks for the healthy discussion.
