I cant wait to try it.

Microsoft Game Studios has spent the last several months telling you all about the incredibly deep and realistic features included in the game and soon youll be able to take the game for a test drive on Xbox Live Marketplace the rumors this week of a downloadable demo are true and the details on timing will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Both from fleaBay at way less than the OWC prices. The 2 port will run 2x 2.5 inch drives to become the main HD for the G4 and possibly its time machine backup. The 4 port will look after my itunes, photos etc and general backup duties.

I'll post some pix once it looks different from stock with a load of drives whirring away :D

I receive 1080i HDTV signal via satellite. Gotta love MonstersHD. :DHow do you record shows on your Mac and archive into mp4 files?I can't! That's why I'm looking for a DVR solution. I can get an HD DVR receiver from Dish for $200 and that's looking like my best option at this point. I just garaged my Yamaha surround system and picked up a Samsung Home Theater system--the HT-Q70 system. 1,000 watts, 5 dvd carousel, HDMI out, plays DIVX and has a USB port that allows me to play DIVX movies off of a thumb drive. I think the HT-Q80 is out now and it has HDMI in and out.Bummer. I guess we're in the twilight zone of non-archival capability so far. Hopefully solutions will surface in the next 12 months. You guys are making me feel very lucky to have 3 off air HD sources (CBS, NBC, Fox) and 1 SD (PBS) that work with EyeTV 500. I didn't realize how hard it is for many others to get HDTV broadcasts off the air as well.

You should only use that option to convert AIFF CD Audio files NOT mp3 files. Your quality will go in the toilet if you try to convert mp3 directly to AAC at any bit rate. Plus it does take a long time to make that crappy conversion.

True - I imagine that it would indeed. I already turned the option off because it didn't seem like it would be too helpful...

I still use a Verizon dumbphone. I see no real reason to switch to iphone, simply because I have little interest in the device (plus, I can't afford a data plan right now, which is required when you buy a Verizon smartphone)

Verizon requires a $30 month data plan....AT&T offers one for $15 if you don't use a lot of data. That'll save you $360 over the 2 year contract.

    Wow!where can I buy that "BINKS" shirt?:D

    Right here: http://www.districtlines.com/20899-Vampire-Raglan-T-Shirt/ZACHARYXBINKS

If you're outside the U.S. though, the shipping and duties will cost a pretty penny. That one and the other one like it cost me almost $80 to get them to Nova Scotia, Canada when all was said and done.

This just proves a lot of the verizon fanboys were all liars. They actually secretly switched to AT&T and got the iPhone already.

No. It's fairly common sense stuff really to stick code in like class="title" instead of class="blue" to infer structure in a document, not the design.

I agree - especially about the class="blue" example. This will lead into problems as soon as the element should be given another colour in the future. However, the original post reads like "Hey, let's say this <element> is LARGE and let the browser decide what a LARGE <element> should look like, how large it should be, etc..."; and that's what I criticise.

csszengarden is also just ONE underlying document structure and not a terribly practical one either. It's there to showcase what can be done just with CSS, not how to design a practical semantically led page.

Guess the main problem is that they can't update the initial document structure afterwards - otherwise there would be problems with all the designs.

The Gorillaz love to experiment and Damon Albarn mentioned himself that he loves to challenge himself whist creating his works. In other words, this will not be a continuing trend. I doubt very much will other artists will follow suit.

That said: touche. I can't believe I missed that. I think I need to strike out the word impossible and put impractical.

I fully agree that this won't be a mainstream endeavour. I just had to object to the "Impossible" claim. ;)

4.3.1 is terrible on the 4th gen iPod touches. Home screen animations lag and more often than not skip totally. battery life is down, apps from the multitasking tray aren't usable upon switching to them for a few seconds - it's just terrible.

Thankfully, I had been jailbroken so I'm back on 4.2.1.

well colour me confused if my MDD isn't running at 34 deg after being on for 3hrs.

Nap must be working despite the strange message - is that possible? I've read of it not showing cache sizes correctly etc so maybe it is.

Yeah, I remember being so bummed out when our arcade swapped the sit-down Star Wars model for the smaller stand-up version. Boooo

Don't forget also Star Trek Strategic Ops:

    http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9770

Guy had the sit-down one local for $750 in perfect condition - wow, sold it in under 1/2 hour...

I was just about to post about this likely being a loss leader. They're generating buzz and traffic in their stores. Their losses on the iPad are designed to turn profit on other sales.

You are exactly correct. I would bet anything that TJ Maxx/Marshalls did in fact pay the $499 for each and are selling them at a reduced price. Because they did not announce where they will be, they intended/bet on the internet hype to drive customers into the stores to look to see if their local store(s) had them. And, about 75% of those customers will stay in the store and look around while they are there, and of those 75% of customers, 60% are likely to buy something. It is a marketing ploy. This type of thing has been done for ages by smaller chain stores. It's nothing new. Only reason it's getting attention is that it is an iPad, something people want - and that is exactly why they did it.

I've seen some other forums, but this forum definatly is the best in terms of mod friendly-ness, etc. And their quite efficient here, too. Plus our mods have cooler sounding usernames...

This is so true. Of all forums I've joined, MacRumors is the best. There is a friendliness to it and a feeling of family and friends. My friends always ask me how on Earth could I love a forum so much.

I just want to thank Arn, Doctor Q, and all the other mods for making MacRumors one of the best forums on the web.
Toast to the Macintosh, good friends, and the future of MacRumors!
